The African National Congress (ANC) has declined former President Jacob Zuma’s request to conduct his misconduct disciplinary hearing in public.
Zuma was scheduled to appear virtually before the ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday but did not attend. Representing him was ANC member Tony Yengeni.
The MK Party stated that Zuma sought a public hearing for transparency and accountability. However, ANC acting spokesperson Zuko Godlimpi confirmed that while the committee agreed to postpone the hearing, it would neither be public nor physical.
