Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has announced a 41-member preliminary squad for the up-coming June International friendlies to be played at home. The squad includes a number of new faces as the Belgian mentor looks to give new players a chance in the national team to improve squad depth ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Orlando Pirates teenage sensation Mbekezeli Mbokazi has received his maiden national call-up alongside exciting youngsters Shandre Campbell, Mduduzi Shabalala and Mohau Nkota. In total there are 12 players who received maiden call-ups in the Bafana Bafana squad, however, Hugo Broos is expected to reduce the squad ahead of the friendlies. The South African Football Association is yet to reveal Bafana Bafana’s opponents for these matches.
