KwaZulu-Natal Human Settlements MEC Sipho Nkosi has urged the Wentworth community leaders to vacate illegally occupied temporary housing.
The 30 units were meant to be temporary shelters during a 100-million-rand renovation project for over one-thousand government flats.
Residents raised concerns about poor workmanship and lack of information during a meeting with the MEC.
Nkosi has since called for patience and reiterated that the provincial government is still committed to completing its renovation project.
