The National Liquor Traders says the government needs to come up with permanent solutions to address alcohol abuse in the country.

The public benefit organisation says it will be going to court on the 8th of August to Compel the court to overturn the implementation of new liquor laws in Limpopo.

According to these laws introduced by the Limpopo government alcohol sales will no longer be permitted after midnight, in an effort to curb crime related to alcohol abuse.

The National Liquor Traders Council convener Lucky Ntimane says this will not just affect Limpopo but it will become a national issue considering the country’s ailing economy, where jobs are already scarce and small businesses are crumbling.
