Deputy President Paul Mashatile says the African National Congress (ANC) is not interested in forming coalitions, but it has become a reality of South Africa’s political landscape that the government has to be better prepared for.
He was answering questions in the National Council of Provinces.
Mashatile says by defining the rules, procedures, and potential sanctions that would apply to political parties and independent councillors who govern together, they will ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability in the political system.
