The Midlands Liquor Traders Association, which represents licensed liquor traders, has committed to working with Entokozweni Special School, a school for learners with special needs in Sweetwaters, Pietermaritzburg.
The association together with the Makhosi Sibongile Zameka Learning Academy and the KwaZulu-Natal Economic Authority Regulator, visited the school to donate various resources to learners.
They also explored ways of providing continued support to the institution.
Midlands Liquor Traders Association Chairperson, Lucky Mkhize, says it is important to extend a helping hand, particularly to schools catering for children with disabilities.
“We have also reaffirmed that, as an organisation, we will work together with the school to provide assistance wherever possible and offer support in areas where we are able to help.”
“We also identified the importance of ensuring that, as an organisation, our school programmes prioritise schools for children living with disabilities, as these are the institutions that need the most support and face numerous challenges,” said Mkhize.

Mkhize also maintained that such initiatives are to ensure that they do not feel excluded or left behind. He also concluded in confirming that they also donated money to help the school meet some of its other needs.
