President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed optimism ahead of his meeting with US President Donald Trump, describing it as a “really good and positive” opportunity for engagement.
Ramaphosa visited the South African embassy in Washington yesterday, where he received a strategic briefing from his ministers in preparation for the talks.
The South African government has described the highly anticipated meeting as a chance to reset and strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
Ramaphosa emphasised the importance of deepening economic ties, stating that a more enhanced and mutually beneficial trade relationship with the United States is imperative for South Africa’s growth and development.
