Growing Concerns About Unemployed Graduates

Observers say universities are still producing more and more graduates than the job market can accommodate.
This comes as the Higher Education Department is still encouraging graduates to do Phd’s while post graduates are still struggling to find employment even though they do have qualifications.
Lukhanyo Daweti from the Union of South African Students says that the country should accept the fact that South Africa has not planned properly on how the country will look and if it will ever be mature enough to get more jobs for graduates.
He further says majority of graduates are funded by the government and it is upsetting how the education system produces qualifications that are not needed in the country or are less needed when it comes to the country’s needs.
