ActionSA says that after nearly two years of challenging the African National Congress’s debt settlement agreement with Ezulweni Investments, it has now obtained the confidential agreement.
The party’s chairperson, Michael Beaumont, says the agreement shows that the ANC breached the provisions of the Political Party Funding Act.
He says the ANC placed an order of election materials for its 2024 campaign at R190 million, to write off the historic debt with Ezulweni Investments, for goods independently valued at only R125 million.
Currently the ANC has issued a statement on the Ezulweni matter challenging the authenticity of the transaction adding that they have instructed their legal counsel to work on a counterclaim for all payments made to date.
Beaumont says that there is still a breach in all this.
