Patriotic Alliance leader Gayton McKenzie has threatened to withdraw his party from the government of national unity including from the ANC-run coalition government in the City of Johannesburg.
This is over Johannesburg mayor Dada Morero’s failure to immediately reinstate Kenny Kunene as mayoral committee member for Transport.
Kunene who is the PA deputy president was cleared of any wrongdoing linked to the murder accused Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe.
In July, Kunene was found at the home of Katiso “KT” Molefe, who is facing charges linked to the 2022 murder of musical artist Oupa “DJ Sumbody” Sefoka. South African Police Service officers had raided the home to arrest Molefe.
On a Facebook live, McKenzie says that Morero has until Monday to reinstate Kunene.
“They are predicting because I am the minister, they can do what they like. If you don’t put Kenny Kunene back, we will leave every coalition we have with the ANC, starting with JB Marks. Who does this mayor of Joburg think he is, let us show him how we hit the ground,” says Mckenzie.
