Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says the provincial government’s Broadband project will create more than 5000 jobs for women.

The project is in partnership with Broad-band Infraco, Universal Service and Access Agency of South Africa, and the Development Bank of Southern Africa.

The premier says 8 young women have started a business and have commenced installing WiFi hotspots in KwaNdengezi township west of Durban.

Dube-Ncube adds that the province’s ambition is to have 20 500 hotspots by next year.
