Activist and grandson of Nelson Mandela, Mandla Mandela who was part of a South African group aboard, a boat sailing to Gaza the Global Sumud Flotilla has been kidnapped by Israeli forces.
It is believed the boat was intercepted in the early hours of this morning.
In a statement, the Global Sumud Flotilla confirms that the Israeli occupation forces ambushed their boat in international waters and detained some of the delegates.
The GDF adds that these actions represent another attempt to silence voices of solidarity in the fight for Gaza, adding that its illegal under international law.
It has urged the South African government to act speedily to ensure the safe return of all captured citizens.
A video of Mandela detailing the kidnapping is making rounds on the Internet.
