The suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu says that he is prepared to take the stand before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Mchunu, who is currently on special leave is accused of interfering in police operations and disbanding the Political Killings Task Team.
The allegations were made by the KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkwanazi, who claimed that Mchunu’s actions were politically motivated.
Mchunu says that he looks forward to clearing his name and has already appeared before the African National Congress Integrity Committee to address the matter.
“I am ready for my own opportunity to address the commission. When the allegations are against you, you need to get the opportunity. And I am grateful that an opportunity is coming for me to have my say and that is what I have been longing for,” says Mchunu.
