The KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says that the country could burn if details of internal ANC campaign payments are made public.

Mkhwanazi has told Parliament’s ad hoc committee that some officials are involved in political interference.

He says that businessman Brown Mogotsi had access to sensitive police information and is alleged to have provided financial support for Police minister Senzo Mchunu’s political activities.

“Today the country is in mourning because we lost one of our ambassadors in France but then the ambassador was a Minister of police. As they feature on television and you watch the homestead of former Minister of Police, you are going to see a big wall. It was built by the money of Crime Intelligence, the minister never asked for the wall,” says Mkhwanazi.
