ALS Paramedics urge motorists to be cautious on roads due to multiple crashes on KwaZulu-Natal’s roads particularly in this wet conditions as heavy rains persist.
A Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms, heavy rains and damaging winds has been issued for the province.
Drivers are advise to reduce speed, increase following distances, check tires and wipers, turn on headlights, and allow extra time for travel to prevent accidents.
The eThekwini Municipality has also urged residents to stay indoors as heavy rain hits the province.
ALS spokesperson Garieth Jamieson.
“ALS paramedics has attended to multiple collisions with multiple patients across Durban and surroundings. And with no sign of the rain easing up, we advise motorists to please slow down.
“Please leave a little bit earlier to reach your destination on time, make sure that your vehicle is in good condition, your windscreen wipers are working, your headlights are on whilst driving as well as your tires please make sure that they are in good condition,” says Jamieson.
