The Minister of Police, Senzo Mchunu, has noted with concern recent media reports speculating about the imminent arrest of the National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola.
According to Ministry spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi, the Police Department has no knowledge of any impending arrest involving Commissioner Masemola.
“We have also taken note of the response from the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption, which has addressed and clarified this speculation,” said Mogotsi.
The Ministry has urged the media to exercise caution and verify information before publishing reports that could potentially mislead the public or undermine confidence in law enforcement leadership.
