The uMkhambathini Tourism Organisation has revealed that the men and women in blue will be visible throughout the area during the upcoming festive season to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.
The organisation was part of the uMkhambathini Table Mountain Hike and Tourism event, which was held in uMkhambathini over the weekend. The initiative aims to promote the region’s tourism potential by showcasing local attractions such as uMkhambathini Table Mountain, as well as other cultural and heritage sites.
Chairperson Busisiwe Ngcamu said local government needs to invest more in tourism development and ensure that local destinations are better promoted within surrounding communities.
“Tourism can play a major role in boosting the local economy and creating jobs. It is important that people living in these areas are aware of the treasures around them and take pride in promoting them,” Ngcamu said.
The event also encouraged collaboration between law enforcement, local businesses, and tourism stakeholders to create a safe and welcoming environment for visitors ahead of the festive season.
