Political analyst Sandile Swana says promises contained in political parties’ manifestos do not guarantee victory in elections and that political parties must earn voters’ support through hard work.
Swana’s comments come as political parties ramp up their campaigns ahead of the local government elections in November, promising improved service delivery.
Several parties have already launched their manifestos, outlining their plans should they be elected to govern.
Speaking to Gagasi FM News, Swana says political changes across various provinces have seen voters becoming more conscious of what they want from political parties and their leaders.
“Le Manifesto le umsindo nje oba khona ngoba kahle khale i-local government election, ebery ward is an election. So you win a ward, ukuthi uwine this ward does not mean you are going to win the next,” said Swana.
