Presidency Confirms Report On Russian Vessel Will be Released Today

The Presidency has announced an independent panel’s report on the investigation into the docking of the Russian cargo vessel, Lady R, will be finalised and released today.
The investigation, led by retired Judge Phineas Mojapelo, was initiated following allegations of South African arms smuggling aboard the vessel during its docking in Simon’s Town in December.
Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says a slight delay in the investigation’s conclusion was attributed to a late submission, but Mojapelo did not seek an extension.
