President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Malaya in Malaysia.


This is in recognition of his outstanding leadership contributions to international relations and dedication to global development and his expertise as a skilled consultant and strategic leader.


He is only the second South African after the late former president Nelson Mandela to receive this distinction.


Ramaphosa says that this honour recognises the struggle of the South African people for democracy and freedom.

“This honor in a form of an Honorary Doctorate, an international relations is being conferred at a time of great turbulence and uncertainty in the world. The principles and values that we have sort to advance in global affairs,” says Ramaphosa.
