The murder trial of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and his friend, businessman Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, continues to face delays due to multiple court postponements.
The case has now been rescheduled to be heard in July next year, more than three years after the pair were fatally shot. Forbes and Motsoane were gunned down on Durban’s popular Florida Road in February 2023, shortly after leaving a restaurant.
Five suspects are currently facing charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, two counts of murder, and several offences related to firearms and ammunition.
KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said the matter will return to court on 19 July 2026, when the presiding judge is expected to certify the case as trial-ready.
The continued delays have drawn public attention and frustration from the victims’ families and fans, who have been calling for justice and accountability.
