The Communication Workers Union has accused the SABC management of disregarding workers’ rights, dignity and livelihoods.

This comes as the union says workers are owed 50% of their back pay for the 2023/2024 financial year.

The union’s spokesperson Moffat Seutlwadi says that management has also openly declared that there will be no salary increments, which means three consecutive years of frozen wages and broken promises.

“We as the CWU we cannot find ourselves saying we are not going to fight for workers that have been abused within SABC and we are planning as we did in Limpopo, a march. We are also planning to do march in Gauteng against the SABC management calling for the removal of Nomsa Chabedi and Rachel Masuku,” says Seutlwadi.
