EFF leader Julius Malema says the party will continue to play an active role in Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee as it moves to finalise its recommendations.
The committee was established to investigate explosive allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal provincial police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, who claimed there has been a capture of key law enforcement agencies, including elements within the South African Police Service.
Malema says a key recommendation should be the removal of Senzo Mchunu as Minister of Police, along with efforts to recover public funds paid to him while he has been on special leave. Mchunu has been on special leave since June 2025, following mounting political pressure linked to the allegations.
The Ad Hoc Committee is expected to assess evidence from multiple stakeholders, including law enforcement officials and political leaders, before tabling its findings and recommendations in Parliament.
