EFF leader Julius Malema has expressed concern over growing tensions among senior police officials, warning that divisions within the country’s law enforcement structures could weaken South Africa’s ability to combat crime.
Speaking in Emfuleni Municipality in Gauteng’s Sedibeng District, Malema urged members of the security cluster to put aside their differences and work together in the interest of public safety. He said unity among law enforcement agencies was critical to maintaining stability and strengthening public confidence in the country’s security institutions.
Malema cautioned that ongoing infighting could create opportunities for criminal elements to exploit weaknesses within the system and further threaten community safety.
His remarks come ahead of the planned anti-illegal immigration march on June 30, with the EFF leader calling for calm and responsible conduct as the event approaches.
