Mashatile says this development underscores the need for South Africa to explore and invest in domestic opportunities that can strengthen the economy and reduce dependency on foreign aid and support.
He was responding to a question in Parliament from the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) regarding the government’s strategy in light of the funding withdrawal by the US.
The Deputy President noted that a Human Resource Development Council has been established to prioritise skills development and address challenges in areas such as trade and economic empowerment.
