National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says he will fully cooperate with investigations into alleged tender corruption involving Medicare 24.
Masemola has been summoned to appear in court on April 21 in connection with a R360 million tender awarded to Medicare 24, a company linked to controversial businessman Vusimuzi Matlala.
The case forms part of a broader probe into alleged irregularities in the awarding of police contracts. Twelve senior police officials linked to the tender appeared in court last week, facing charges of corruption, fraud, and money laundering.
Speaking on the matter, Masemola said he would not speculate on the underlying factors behind the investigation, but reiterated his commitment to due process and transparency.
Authorities have indicated that investigations are ongoing, and further developments are expected as the case proceeds through the courts.
