UMkhonto weSizwe Party Secretary General Floyd Shivambu says the party has no interest in forming part of the Government of National Unity. 

Shivambu revealed that MKP did receive a letter from ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula but declined to interfere in the ANC and DA impasse. 

This comes after there has been a dispute over the National Budget’s Fiscal Framework, which contains a 1% VAT increase over two years. 

On Saturday the DA and the ANC negotiating teams met with the aim of engaging as part of ongoing efforts to break the current budget impasse and the reconfiguration of the government of national unity. 

Shivambu says MKP is not desperate for power.
