US President Donald Trump says an Iranian regime armed with long-range missiles and nuclear weapons would pose a grave threat to every American.
His comments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, as Iran’s retaliation intensifies following joint US-Israeli strikes that reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, on Saturday.
Three US service members were killed during “Operation Epic Fury”, while five others sustained serious injuries, according to US officials.
Trump said Iran had rejected every opportunity to renounce its nuclear ambitions, adding that Washington would continue to act in what he described as the interests of national and global security.
The developments mark a significant escalation in hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran, raising concerns about broader regional instability and the potential for further military confrontation.
